The training is based on successful industrial Translation cases and a Translation Guide.  The EMMC provides demonstrations and recommendations for  effective translation of industrial challenges into materials modelling approaches.

The goals of the EMMC-CSA Training are

to explain the possibilities for wider industrial adoption of the academic developed modelling,

to demonstrate successful cases of the material modelling use for tackling industrial problems,

to teach how to estimate the costs of the modelling support for industrial partners as well as how to describe Translation cases using the EMMC Translation Case template.

The training will take place in the framework of the minisymposium 147 “European Materials Modelling Council: Training for Translators” of the Joint ECCOMAS Conferences ECCM-ECFD 2018. The theoretical and practical aspects of Translation process will be presented by industrial modelling- and translation experts in two joining sessions (MS147A and MS147B).

Effective approaches to overcome the barriers of modelling application for business decision will be discussed. The transfer of materials modelling innovation from academic model developers and software owners to end-users (incl. SMEs) is the major aspect to be focused on.

EMMC kindly invites academic Materials Model Developers and Users, PhD Students  and Researchers, Modelling and Experimental industrial Experts, Industrial Translators and  Independent  Consultants to attend the Training to learn more and discuss about:

  • materials modelling translation and translation processes;
  • translation related important aspects of business and industrial cases and interests;
  • sufficiency of the experimental (and modelling) data available within the client;
  • translation to modelling workflows;
  • preparation of client modelling executor(s) and strategy for model validation;
  • translation of the modelling results to information that is understandable and usable by the client.

People already registered for ECCM-ECFD 2018 conference can attend the EMMC sessions for free.

If you have not registered for ECCM-ECFD 2018 conference and you would like to join the EMMC sessions on June 14, 2018, please register via the conference website or at the registration desk upon arrival.  You can pay the one-day special fee of 185 EUR at the registration desk.
