Category: non emmc event

events organized by external, third party action

The event will combine keynote presentations, discussions, a matchmaking event, fish-bowls, world cafés and an exhibition on new industrial applications for research on Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing. Plenary sessions with great political impact on the industrial landscape will be followed by parallel sessions organised around three main pillars:

1) Technologies for sustainable growth
2) Innovative Industry for citizens
3) Ecosystem and framing conditions

Representatives of the EMMC will give presentations.

EC Workshop on “Industrial Commons as a Tool to Drive Innovation in Europe”

The EC DG Research & Innovation organised a workshop on “Industrial Commons as a Tool to Drive Innovation in Europe” on June 28, 2018 in Brussels.

European-funded R&I projects are cradles of innovation, producing large amounts of data that can be (re-)used. In this context, Industrial Commons may accelerate innovation and even spill over into complete new areas of the economy. Similar to traditional “commons”, e.g. land, water and air, goods that are used in common, Industrial Commons could mean R&D-derived knowledge, data, and capabilities shared across various industrial sectors. Industrial Commons potentially provide the means to take forward industrial project results and create new markets and new business models.

The EMMC was represented by Gerhard Goldbeck (Goldbeck Consulting) and Rudy Koopmans (Koopmans Consulting) gave a keynote speech on “The industrial perspective” within the session “Europe – A potential innovation powerhouse?”

Agenda & Workshop report are available on the event page!

The workshop has been organized within the MODSIM project of the Subcommittee on Polymer Terminology, which is part of the Polymer Division of IUPAC. The aim of the MODSIM project is establish a consensus around the technical terms used in modeling and simulation of polymers and related materials.

The workshop is part of the yearly activities of the IT-SIMUL node of CECAM.

The organizers acknowledge also the PRIN 2015 project “Molecular organization in organic thin films via computer simulation of their fabrication processes” (2015XJA9NT).

Industrial Innovation Info Days 2017

The European Commission is organising the Industrial Innovation Info Days with support of external stakeholders to

– Build the basis for the future of Industrial Research in Europe,

– Inform relevant industrial technology providers & users about EU activities in the field,

– enhance cooperation among stakeholders.

Programme : Plenary sessions with great political impact on the industrial environment and key notes by high level speakers. Panel sessions with a focus on upcoming challenges for the next work programme on nanotechnologies, advanced materials, advanced manufacturing & processing, and biotechology.

Networking activities with possibility to present your project ideas.

Matchmaking to meet new partners during short face to face meetings (separate registration site).

Please register by 26 September 2017, 17:00 CET.
